200 Meter Rifle Range, Long Distance Shooting

Range 9 has seven (7) shooting positions (tables and chairs) under a covered or shaded area. Users may shoot seated, standing, or prone (bring a blanket or mat)

This is a designated 200-meter rifle range. Rifles must be sighted in on Range 8 or a similar range before use on Range 9. An access road, protected by a gate on the western boundary, is to be used by vehicles to travel to and from the target boards. The BLUE “COLD” range light must be turned on prior to opening the gate!

Range 9 contains several AR 500 steel targets for member use. Do not fire metal penetrating, tracers, solid core, or other specialty ammunition at these targets. Doing so will create a safety hazard and cause damage. Violations of this rule will result in the shooter’s dismissal from the range.

Ranges 7, 8, and 9 all use a Blue light to indicate a COLD range. Additionally, a RED LINE is painted on the floor of these ranges. All shooters must remain behind this line during a COLD RANGE unless they are posting targets or removing brass. The shelf area located behind the shooting benches on each rifle range is to be used for shootong equipment storage while shooting. DO NOT CASE, UNCASED, OR PLACE ANY RIFLE ON THIS BENCH FOR ANY REASON! IT IS NOT A CLEANING AREA; ACCESSORIES ONLY.

The information provided here is a partial list of the rules, regulations, and safety requirements involved with shooting at any range at the Eustis Gun Club. Every member should refer to the Eustis Gun Club Range Rulebook for complete guidance. If you have any questions, check with the Range Safety Officer (RSO) before any activity.

We suggest you create a checklist of items to bring with you, including:

  • Hearing Protection

  • Eye Protection

  • Bug Repellant (summer months)

  • Targets

Your checklist should be more extensive, but those are a few top items.
