EGC Cowboy Action Shooting
Step back into the American Old West and experience one of Eustis Gun Club's most distinctive shooting traditions—Cowboy Action Shooting with the Pistoleros.
A proud EGC Legacy Group since 1995, the Pistoleros have spent more than three decades bringing history, competition, fellowship, and a little bit of the Wild West to Eustis Gun Club.
Cowboy Action Shooting is much more than a shooting match. It's an immersive shooting sport that combines marksmanship, speed, period-inspired firearms, Old West attire, creative stages, and plenty of personality. Competitors don't simply shoot the match—they become part of the experience.
Today, Cowboy Action Shooting continues as part of the EGC Shooting Sports Program, preserving the traditions established by generations of Pistoleros while giving today's EGC members the opportunity to discover and participate in this unique shooting sport.
What is Cowboy Action Shooting?
Cowboy Action Shooting, sometimes called Western Action Shooting or Cowboy 3-Gun, is a multi-gun competitive shooting sport inspired by the firearms, characters, and traditions of the American Old West.
Competitors navigate a series of stages using combinations of single-action revolvers, lever-action rifles, and period-appropriate shotguns. Each stage presents a different shooting sequence or scenario designed to challenge accuracy, firearm handling, and speed against the clock.
But competition is only part of what makes Cowboy Action special.
The clothing, aliases, firearms, stages, camaraderie, and spirit of the sport combine to create an experience unlike almost anything else in the shooting world.
EGC also hosts Wild Bunch Action Shooting, offering another exciting variation on traditional Western shooting competition.
New Cowboys & Cowgirls Welcome

Preserving an EGC Tradition

For more than 30 years, the Pistoleros have helped make Cowboy Action Shooting part of the identity and history of Eustis Gun Club.
Their longevity represents exactly what EGC's Shooting Sports Program is about—members sharing their knowledge, volunteering their time, preserving shooting traditions, welcoming new participants, and creating opportunities for fellow members to enjoy the shooting sports.
As EGC continues to grow and develop new shooting opportunities for the future, we are equally proud to preserve the disciplines and people who helped build the Club we have today.
So dust off your boots, grab your cowboy hat, and come experience an EGC tradition more than three decades in the making.
